Carlos Casariego

Carlos works primarily as an industrial and architectural photographer. In addition to the commercial assignments, he also does numerous projects of his own. The book Carlos Casariego Fotógrafo (ISBN 84-7925-177-8) contains images from his projects Imagined Landscapes, Oviedo, and Field Sketches.

Carlos Casariego says this about his project Imagined Landscapes: “These images are my own personal interpretation of industrial harbors and the creative environments that are found in this type of area. I used a Zeiss Sonnar 180 mm since I wanted to get so close to the subject that it becomes almost abstract. The subjects: boat hulls, rusty chains, containers, old walls, etc., had surfaces that reminded me of my past as an abstract painter. With a little imagination I was able to transform these into a sort of landscape.”
