Elliott Brook
Elliott Brook, England:
Elliott Brook - Great Britain - ”Since I was a student I have been stealing flowers to photograph. I use a pair of bonsai scissors I bought in Japan to carefully remove one or two flowers. Then I find a place to make the photo – a hotel room, a bathroom, a kitchen, anywhere. I stick the flower to a window and I cheat sometimes by rearranging the petals. I like long exposures. A minute is about the average. I think this allows things to happen that I can’t predict. The light sometimes ends up eating through the flower.
I studied at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland and I have had various exhibitions. I have work in the collection of the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris and there will be a book of my work coming out shortly entitled ‘Constellations’.”
